The Robinwood Church of God is an evangelistic Bible-believing congregation. We are
joined together in the love of the Lord Jesus Christ and are working together for the
advancement of the gospel.
Goals
Where
there is no vision the people perish. Proverbs 29:18a
Our vision for the people God places in the Robinwood congregation can be summarized
generally in three goals:
- Encourage Christians in their relationship with the Lord, to honor and worship God with
a love above all else in life. This relationship is strengthened through prayer, Bible
reading and church attendance.
- Nurture loving relationships between people in their families, church and community.
- Call them to serve others and to carry the message of the Gospel to the unbelievers of
our generation, both in our local areas and overseas.
We Believe
- the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God as recorded in the
original autographs. As such it is the standard by which all doctrine and personal
revelations or experiences must be tested.
- there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- the Lord Jesus Christ was born to a virgin and lived a sinless life. His death on the
cross purchased our salvation. Three days after His death He was resurrected and then
after being seen by many witnesses ascended to the right hand of the Father.
- the blood of Jesus is the only cleansing for sin. Salvation is found only through
repentance from sin and faith in the Savior Jesus Christ.
- in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled
to live a holy life.
- Christians are called to carry the message of the Gospel to their generations.
- that Jesus us coming again to judge mankind.
- in the resurrection of both the saved to everlasting life and the lost to everlasting
damnation.
Programs
Our Vacation Bible School is an annual project which provides an evangelical outreach
and a fun, educational activity for all interested children.
We are a sponsoring congregation of the annual summer family campmeeting held in
Westerville, OH.
Two youth camps are provided in the summer which offer a program of physical and
spiritual activity that contribute to the development of a well-rounded perspective.
Two youth retreats--Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend, allow our young people
a chance to meet other young people for a time of spiritual renewal.
The Church is an active sponsor of mission work in Haiti, Guatemala and Nigeria. We
sponsor people who are interested in short-term mission work programs under the auspice of
Children's Internation Lifeline mission in Haita and the Church of God Evangelical
Association in Guatemala.
At the Robinwood Church of God there are a wide range of Sunday School classes which
equip the students with the truths of the Bible. There are classes for children ages 2 to
18. For the adults there are two classes, one of which is for new believers. The new
believers class studies the essential doctrines of Christianity.
Once a month the adult classes combine are divided into a men's class and a ladies'
class. This provided opportunity for dealing with issues with others of the same gender.
Wednesday night we have earnest prayer for special needs of the congregation and a time
of Bible study. Choir practice is held in the half hour before the Wednesday night service
for the adults. Music is an important part of our worship services. Children who play an
instrument are invited to join the children's band. The band meets for practice on the
first and third Wednesday of each month.
