MINISTRY: any act of Christian service which helps direct people into fellowship with Jesus Christ is ministry. [ preaching, teaching, worship, ushering, etc.]

FUNCTIONS:

    -    Serve as first official representative of Jesus Christ at church functions

    -    Set the spiritual tone for everyone

    -    Service                                                                            -    direct contact with members and visitors

    -    Stability                                                                           -    warmth and welcome

    -    Positive attitude                                                                -    reassurance, encouragement

    -    Attentiveness                                                                    -   special attention to people

    -    Concentrate on the service                                                 -   ambassadors of kindness

    -    Aware of the leader                                                          -    people who step out during service

    -    Handling characters (people who come in drunk, etc.)          -    emergencies (flashlights, first aid, lost and found)

    -    Parking lot assistance                                                       -    communion

    -    Funerals, weddings                                                          -    overflow

  
OFFERING:
  
    -    Part of worship, encourage dignity and grace

    -    Saying the blessing

    -    Collection


DUTIES:

    -    Grooming (cleanliness, mouthwash, deodorant, dress to represent)


    -    Attitude

    -    Proud to be an usher                                                       -    optimistic about the church

    -    Pleasant conversation                                                      -    pleasant face

    -    Non-judgemental                                                            -    helpful


 RESPONSIBILITIES:

    -    Opening the building                                                        -    closing the double doors

    -    Greeting                                                                         -    offering

    -    Visitor information cards                                                  -    Sunday School pledges for visitors

    -   Oversea the back of the sancturary                                    -    families know where to go for Sunday School

    -   Children introduced to teachers                                         -    close the building
