EVANGELICAL ACTIVITY REPORT FROM THE CHURCH OF GOD WMF Abam/Abala Nkamiri:

God was on our side from the very first day of January 2002. New converts of WFO families started. Our efforts to have a new location at Akpaa Mba also materialized and that is where Pastor Ronald Iheanacho has been assigned to work and he has long started ministration there. Having agreed with the Village Heads who gave us their Council hall with a little amount deposited. Souls are quickly responding.

I, Pastor Christina have been dividing my time going to Akpaa to hold prayer meetings with some Elders till weekend wherein Ronald comes back from school. Also my going to Umuahia to ratify some issues on preparation and instructions from Elders for proper arrangements.

Then from 29th we traveled to Ikot Inyang Eti to attend the proposed fasting and prayer and to have the 9th joint Meeting. The meeting was mainly centered on how to organize ourselves to receive the foreign brethren. Emails about information on the trip were given to Ministers by Pastor Christian including the Info+.

On January 1 we had an all night prayer at Ikot Inyang Eti. The moderator was Pastor Udobong while Ronald was appointed to be the Evangelist for the night prayer. It was a fantastic prayer night indeed. The attendance was greatly encouraging. Adult recorded 16, youth and children 12; this is apart from the visiting ministers.

Pastor Ronald gave a message captioned "Your Disappointment Will Be Turned Into God's Appointment" with scripture Luke 5. He stated that Peter got disappointed that night but when Jesus came the situation changed.

On the morrow being January 2 most ministers and elders left to see their congregations while I remained to round up on the 3rd. On that Saturday at 8 AM Pastor Udobong held a children fasting, which lasted for 3 hours. Attendance was 16 children.

On Sunday February 3, Pastor Udobong gave the teaching of the Sunday School captioned "The Spirit Works With David". Here, he taught the class to be zealous with the things and to allow the Spirit of God to work with them, for that will give boldness and protection in all aspects of life.

The sermon was by Pastor Christian captioned "Are We Reigning Now?" He cited scriptures like Romans 5:17, Rev 5:9-10, & 15:12. He stressed that as redeemed people, i. e. the Church of God are reigning in this world and must reign over sin. We must reign in this life. Jesus having overcome the world gave us victory. He added, "All who live in sin are slaves to their own lusts and are not able to govern themselves. But, salvation makes us Kings in rule over our selves, over our passions, appetites and desires. Salvation places us in kingly triumph over all the elements of this world, over sin, fashions and popular sentiments."

We thank God for the service and the attendance, songs and praises showered and all were blessed. We give God the glory and honor.

TESTIMONIES AT IKOT INYANG ETI:

Brother Akpan Robert: He stressed on how God delivered his son and the devil that wanted to take away the life of the child flew and another child in the neighboring village who the same thing happened to, died instantly. He thanked God for such miracle.

A Sister: That the child at school was reported to have died. Then she ran to school and saw the teacher taking her to hospital. With faith, I asked them to give me my child and I took the child to the church and I invited the pastor and my child was prayed for and she came back to life.

By Pastor Christian Ogbuka

IKOT INYANG ETI:

On every Tuesday nights we conducted counseling prayers from 7:30 - 9:00. General fasting and prayer was conducted every Friday morning from 6 - noon, following with evening prayers for healing from 7:30 - 9 PM.

On every Wednesdays and Saturdays of the week, we go out witnessing. God has done a miracle once again for this month of January Brother Akpan Robert and his family were converted and are now members of the Church of God. Praise God.

From January 30 to February 3 we fasted and prayed for the coming of our brethren from USA, the members of WMF. We prayed to God for journey mercies coming to Nigeria and going back to USA. Also we prayed God to give them His divine protection and all divine intervention in their lives. We also prayed for spiritual enlightenment to Pastors and other Christians throughout the world.

At 4 PM on the 2nd of February choir practice took place. On the 3rd we conducted Divine Service with Sunday School conducted by Pastor Udobong Okon Essien while Bro. Akpan Robert conducted choruses and Pastor Ogbuka preached the Gospel. May glory be to God, Amen.

We are praying for you all in the name of Jesus.

CALABAR, C/O PASTOR JOHNNIE AUSTIN:

Brethren we are grateful to almighty God that the year 2001 have come and gone but it's many wonderful testimonies and blessings shall ever remain with us and bring us again into another packages of joy and His abiding grace.

Soon after the New Year we started our program with joint Ministers/Elders meeting at Umuahia on January 4. The meeting, which supposed to last two days, Friday & Saturday, rather forced us brethren from far distant areas of Calabar in Cross River States to spend 3 days in Umuahia. We rather started our journey back home on Sunday morning and this was the first Sunday in the year 2002.

During the month the church handled a special program on a theme: "The Christian Home". This was an open seminar, which took place on the remaining 3 Sundays in January. It was well attended by members of the church and outsiders as well.

The host Pastor Johnnie Austin specifically handled all the teaching on "Christian Home". Before the seminar, we undertook a 3-week intensive street-to-street preaching from 6 - 8 PM twice in a week.

Other days were fully utilized on house evangelism and also indoor church activities. These days witnessed, Wednesday Bible Class, Friday Deliverance service and Mondays and Tuesdays were for hospital and Prison ministrations.

On the whole, we can say January wasn't bad with us. Brethren, let us now jointly praise God for what He has done for us since the beginning of the year 2002. Praise God!

PHILIPPINES

January 8, 2002

Dear Bro. Rexroth & Saints,

Joyous greetings and belated happy New Year to all our loving supporters abroad in the precious name of Jesus our greatest gift and great Redeemer. Trust this letter full of much gratitude to all who are concern supporting us in your prayers and financial aid that made us possible to continue the sacred task entrusted upon us.

Truly in the Philippine Mission last year 2001, we were greatly persecuted by man made religion due to our stand in the Bible standard of Modesty and simplicity not compromising to the worldly opinion. But praise and thank God because of His sufficient grace that help us to overcome and win the spiritual battle.

Last December the National Statistic Office (NSO) invited all leaders of religion in Mindanao, held in Cagayan De Oro City to attend the Convention of all Solemnizing Officers and I am glad I was able to attend to represent the Bible Holiness Church of God Inc. I thank God that during the conclusion of the convention I was one of the selected speaker in region 12 to give my impression to that convention though there are more capable than me. I give Him all the praises to God because we are not far behind.

In the next place, thank God for the result of our past 2 district youth conventions both Luzon and Mindanao. That before the close of this convention there were more than 30 young peoples that receive the Ordinance of water baptism. We'll be sending soon the journal for you to read all the coverage of this meeting as soon as the Journal is finish.

The year 2001 has gone that leaves many memorable experiences not only in our nation but also in the church history. Now we're starting the year 2002 without any knowledge to what will be happen. For us we know that the God of the church is in full control, that His church is very special and if we remain faithful and trustful to Him there's nothing to worry. By His grace we desire to help more souls to be saved, train more young people to preach the true gospel and establish more congregation of God. Praise His dear Name.

Brother, enclosed is a new building picture in Lupigue, Isabela. This brethrens were able to built a concrete building for the Lord. During the convention in Luzon, they are requesting us to give 600 dollar to help them finish and that is our part. Enclosed also is the picture of Luzon baptism and the group picture in Mindanao. Sorry the picture is presentable.

Lastly, thank you my brother for your appeal in the Info+ of our coming to USA. Hope and pray that God provide our needs through His loving people for the Mission Field. (Editor's note: Money for tickets has been pledged, Letter of Invitation has been sent to the Luzan's and we are waiting for them to obtain visas. Pray that the visas will be granted) Regards now to all our beloved supporters. Our prayers this year 2002 is that the God whom we're serving will bless you more, more than what you've given for the work.

In God's Labor,
Bro. D. B. Luzan

YOUTH CORNER

UPCOMING EVENTS
Check the Calendar.

Hello again, it's time to meet again on the corner. You know in this month of February there is one word that has been on everyone's mind. No that word is not Groundhog, it is LOVE! As the world celebrates love on February 14, they wrap it all up in a red box with chocolate and all those romantic feelings. Now those things aren't bad but my question is that all it is? Nope, God took love and wrapped it in flesh. Then He nailed that love to a tree to die for our sins. That is true love. That love of course is Jesus and through Him we can have love that can transform the world. In fact Jesus said in scripture that by our love people would know that we love Him. So how does your love measure up? Are you loving your parents, friends, and those people who don't love you back?

Check out the Power Passage below and see how you measure up. If you don't God can help you to show His love to a lost and dying world.

Famine Fanatics

At the Dunn Loring Community Church of God in Virginia there are some fanatics who are very excited about an upcoming weekend on Feb. 22-24. This is no ordinary Youth Lock -In, no way. At this lock - in there will be no Food served! Yep you heard right there is no food. The young people of the youth group as well as youth groups all across the country are participating in the World Vision 30 hour Famine. This event is sponsored by a Christian relief organization called World Vision. Their goal is to stop hunger around the world. The youth have been collecting pledges from folks in their church, community, and school to sponsor them for every hour that they go without food. Then all the money raised will go to this organization to fight hunger. Also during the weekend they will be learning about people who are dealing with hunger and they will be participating in service projects to help the community and church. Will the Dunn Loring Youth make it? Will they go the full 30 hours? Those questions and many others will be answered next issue, so tune in, same famine time, same famine channel.
