Romans 8: 28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

It takes faith to believe this promise, especially when things happen that we don’t understand. Pastor Cyriacus Nwachukwu lost the July Pastor’s support to the WMF Nigeria Pastors. His wife was in labor to deliver a child and he left his bag on the bus with the money in it. When he realized it and returned to the bus, his bag was gone with the money and his passport. We thank God for a good brother who stepped in and sent replacement funds to cover the loss.

Help! Help! Monthly offerings for WMF Nigeria pastor support is now $80.00 short of what is needed and monthly support for the Philippines is $125.00 short. Offerings for these missions have declined while the need of both missions has increased. Please pray that the Lord will move on hearts (maybe yours) to help these pastors continue to preach the gospel. If you want more information on these needs, please contact me. The Editor

NIGERIA

REPORTS FOR THE MONTH OF JUNE:

Abam/Abala, Pastor Cyriacus Nwachukwu: Attendance = 60 to 73, 2 souls added. Activities include Visitation to the inmates, witnessing, and our normal church activities.  Fasting and praying 3 days, open-air preaching carried out for four days, God added two souls unto his church. We are grateful in what God is doing in our mist.

Umuahia, Pastor Christian Ogbuka: Attendance = 45 to 70. We had a revival and divine services. God’s presence moved in the midst of the services. I carried out evangelical activities by witnessing in the street.

The children had a summary of their Sunday school lessons for the month as organized by their teacher sister Nkechinyere Madumere.  In this the children quoted scriptures and explained the stories in them.  Gifts were given to the best pupils by their teacher.  The teacher requests for teaching aids, e.g. pictures of Bible lands and people, like the old saints or a pictorial chart for children Bible lessons.  To be sent through the pastor.

Pastors/Elders fasting and prayer were held in Omoba in Abia State. Pastors/Elders traveled there on 24-25th June.  After a prayer session the Ministers went out for witnessing and witnessed to so many and visited members exhorting them to continue steadfast in the Lord.

PROGRESS:  Molding of 50 bags of cement is going from the little balance Umuahia have after the land purchase including what they  have saved before.  Yet more work will be going on as time goes on and as the people who planted cassava on the land harvests it.

Calabar 1, Pastor Johnnie Austin: Attendance = 60 to 90; 4 souls saved. Calabar congregations 1 & 2 jointly conducted a 3 day fasting & prayer for Pastor Stanley Rexroth who was undergoing a surgery in US. Revival meetings were held each Sunday. Wednesday & Friday activities were as normal.

We are handicap of materials. We therefore appeal for items such as: Public Address systems, Speakers, Amplifier, Piano, Generator, Microphones, Tracts & Bibles. We shall be grateful to any spiritual person or group who comes to our aids, I believe will enhance our productivities more. Thanks.

Calabar 2, Pastor Bassey Ekpe: Attendance = 18 to 39. 2 souls won. Evangelical Activities: We had an internal revival on repentance of believers within the Christian flock. This led to the turning out of members even from their houses that had backslid.

Omoba Isiala Ngwa, Pastor Ronald Iheanacho: Attendance = 13 to 18.

Ikot Edibon, Pastor Okon Jim Ibok: Attendance = 18 to 29; Evangelism activities: 3 days revival, & House to house Evangelism.

Ikot Inyang Eti, Pastor Udobong Okon Essien: Attendance = 71 to 75; 2 soul saved 2 Baptized; Evangelism activities include one week prayer for peace & unity in the world, 1 day children’s fasting and Morning fasting & prayer with revival in the evenings 3 days. The church is spiritual blessed.

Ehere, Aba, Pastor James Igbokwe: Attendance = 15 to 26. The church hoped strongly on God to develop the work of God in our lands; we applied ourselves to fighting our impossible battles through Jesus Christ our Lord. I bought a light generator & amplifier; these are some of the materials church in the city requires. We have plan for a seminar within.

Eket Urban, Pastor E. David: Attendance = 20 to 23; Activities: Three days prayer & fasting.

Obinze Owerri, Imo State, Pastor Albert Emeh: Attendance = 7-8; Proper Evangelistic activities have not commenced due to my living far away from this place. Late Mr. Sunday Nwosu who was worshiping with us but later dropped dies that’s why we did not hold service on 13th. He was buried on 12th. The compound was not conducive for service. Again, our member – Late Madam Angelina Igwe died and was buried on 26/6/. The compound was not conducive for service due to people coming and going to pay condolence visit.  Service did not hold.

This is why we are looking for a separate place of fellowship. Please, if secured will there be money to pay the rent? We are eagerly looking for one. My evangelistic work around Owerri is in top gear.  I need financial aid to help me go there.

Evavalley Amafor Isingwu Umuahia, Pastor Comfort (wife of Albert) Emeh: Attendance = 26 to 27. To God be the glory what He is doing.  We have awakened indeed. The Lord has added to us a women and her newborn child. We are receiving promises. Revival has started and we are now thirsty for souls.  The 3 boys attending our Church Teaching for Immersion Baptism will soon graduate. We had our Monthly Holy Communion Service. My wife Mrs. Comfort Emeh who mans this church while I go to Owerri has been appealing to WMF to come to our aid in paying the rents of this church since affiliation; if this is done, our hearts will be gladdened.

PHILIPPINES

June 28, 2004

Dear Pastor and Saints,

It's June rainy season - school opening and busy farming days among our people.  Cough and fever are common striking now but at least the churches go well.  Have just arrived from Mindanao to start our preschool in Davao and see the preparations made for our seminary start this August.  The facilities I believe will soon be finished before August with God's financing from whom? I don’t know.  Pastor and Sis. D.B. Luzan are left there supervising the constructions, etc.

Pastor, request when you appeal for our visit in US next year 2005 in your WMF board July meeting, my companions will be my brothers Wesley and Samuel which will be of greater help.  Thanks in advance and God may richly bless you in the furtherance of your visions.

Regards to Sis. Martha and the Saints.

            In Philippine labor,

            Sis. Noemi Esteban

 Dear  Bro. Rexroth & Saints,

Lovely greetings to you and sis. Rexroth and to all our missionary loving supporters abroad in the precious Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Trusting the Lord that this June report may find you all in good condition both body and soul.

For us saints, by the grace of God we are still in the victory side doing our responsibilities in our Father task in spite of many trials hardship and persecutions from the professing Christians.

Last week we’ve visited  Agusan Churches to see the problem in San Francisco Church of God for the request of our neighbor about the chapel that we need to transfer or move in the right place so that they can clear up the boundary for the plan to put a concrete fence because a portion of the chapel pass the boundary according to their survey.

In addition to this problem the land inspector of the Bureau of Land in San Francisco told us that we can have the title that we have been working for a long time, after we can pay 67 thousand pesos (about $1,200.00) in the B.I.R.  basing this payment in the present market value of the lot.

Saints, please help us pray that God will supply the need so that we can settle this entire problem. This place is very precious because it is the center of our work in Agusan Sur and Norte.

Another information we are still in Ma-a Davao city for the re continuation of the building for the Pastoral Training School. It is really  a real  challenge because we have no money on hand, but we borrowed from someone whom we trust and know that she love also the Lords work. So, at present we have spent again 80 thousand pesos 1,441.00 dollar except the painting yet.

We trust and earnestly pray to God to supply the need. In my previous report I told there that 1,200 dollar is enough but sorry I am wrong.

Closing now with the hope that we are able to finish the building before the opening of the school on the last week of July 2004.

We are praying much that God will touch every heart of the executive members of the W.M.F. to remember the Phil. Mission for His Cause.

            In God’s Labor,

            Bro.& Sis. DB  Luzan jr.

INDIA

July 16, 2004

Precious greetings,

On July 14 we conducted the memorial service of Saint & father John Subhushran Rao, founder of the Church of God in this place, a humble servant of the Lord, a loving shepherd, a tender father and a man of vision & compassion. He enriched spiritually the lives he touched. God has called him, but he remains in our hearts forever. This is the hearty opinion of family members and thousands of the saints expressed at the service.

            Truly your servant,

            Bobby

YOUTH CORNER

I can hardly believe it is July already.   July for me and for many of you means one thing, CAMP!   In our churches and youth groups we are able to go to camp meetings and youth camps to get a spiritual re – charge.   I had the honor this year to participate in Camp Crossroads  youth camp in Burnside Pa.   The theme this year was EXTREME LOVE.   We were challenged to LIVE A LIFE OF GOD’S LOVE.  One thing that struck me as we were learning about this love is this:  it is hard to Love God and Love others if we do not love ourselves, and we cannot love ourselves without God’s love in us.    I know that many of you struggle with loving who God made you to be.   Remember He knew you before you were born and He has a plan for you.   I came across this “letter”  that I pray will encourage you.

Love Letter:

My Dear Child;

My love, I love you. (John 15:9)

I have called you by your name, you are mine. (Isaiah 43:1)

(Isaiah 43:1)

Before I formed you, I knew you. And before you were born, I consecrated you. (Jeremiah 1:5)

You did not choose me, I chose you. (John 15:16)

Beloved, I wish above all things that you prosper and be in good health even as your soul prospers. (3 John 2)

Because you are precious to me and honourable, I love you. (Isaiah 43:4)

I have loved you with an everlasting love and I will continue my Constant love. (Jeremiah 31:3)

How can I abandon you? My love for you is too strong (Hosea 11:8)

I love you so much that I hung on the cross at Calvary. I died for you, and if you believe in Me you will have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

Can a woman forget her own baby and not love the child she bore? Yet, even should she forget, I will never forget you. I cannot forget you. See, I have held you in the palm of my hands. (Isaiah 49: 15-16)

For I, the Lord your God, am holding you by the right hand. (Isaiah 41:13)

I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD. (Matthew 28: 20)

Do not let your heart be troubled, trust in me. (John 14:1)

 I will help you. (Isaiah 41: 14)

When you pass through the deep waters, I will be with you. Your troubles will not overwhelm you. The hard trials that will come will not hurt you. (Isaiah 43:2)

When you walk through the valley of the shadows of death, do not be afraid

because I am with you. My rod and my staff will comfort you. I will lead you in the path of righteousness. (Psalms 23)

I will give you peace in the midst of a storm, not as the world giveth. Let

not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27)

Peace I give which will pass all understanding and shall keep your heart and mind. (Philippians 4:7)

When you lie down do not be afraid, your sleep shall be sweet. (Proverbs 3:24)

My love for you will keep your dwelling safe. (Psalm 4:8)

Beloved my eyes are upon you and I will give you hope, for I am merciful.

 (Psalm 33:18)

You will have access to my grace and rejoice in hope while sharing in the  glory of my Father. (Romans 5:2)

I will give you joy and peace. (Isaiah 55:12)

You may have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice and no one will take your joy from you. (John 16:22)

Do not worry. (Luke 12:9)

Even the hairs of your head have all been counted, so there is no need to be afraid of anything. (Matthew 10:30)

The mountains may depart and the hills will be shaken but my steadfast love for you will never end. (John 54:10)?incorrect reference (Editor) Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)

Come, I will lead you into solitude and there I will speak tenderly to your heart. I will be true & faithful. I will show you constant love & make you mine forever. I will keep my promise, & you will really know me then as never before. (Hosea 1:14,19-20)

I am who I am. (Exodus 3:14). I am the Lord your God. (Hosea 13:4). Your Faithful Friend,

JESUS

That is all for now, Take care and remember to serve the Lord with all you’ve got!

CAMP MEETING REPORT

I was privileged to attend a few days of Alta Pass, NC Camp Meeting. I arrived Tuesday evening in time to hear Bro. Ralph Farmer preach on “Christ The Power of God” from  1 Cor 1:17-24.

Bro. George Sutherland preached Wednesday morning, on “Sanctified Vessels Set Aside For The Master’s Use” from Exodus 40:1-35 & 2 Tim 2:20-22. He told us: The blood of Christ sanctifies us for the Master’s use. If there is a work to be done for God there must be sanctified vessels for his service. We are to be conduits for God to work through. If you are going to be used of God, you must be anointed with the Holy Spirit of God.

The annual business meeting was held Wednesday afternoon. Bro. Hoyt Runion read from 1 Cor 3:9 and encouraged the group that we are workers together. Fall workweek, September 13 – 17, will consist of a number of various repair projects developed from lists of needs. Bro. Arnold Lindner was elected to the board of trustees replacing Bro. Claude Overbay who requested to be replaced.

During the evening service a special ceremony was conducted to honor Bro. & Sis. Overbay and Sis. Wyone Harrison for their steadfastness for many years in serving the Alta Pass Campground.

Bro. Farmer preached on “Behind The Scenes” from 2 Chronicles 18, 19 & 20 He told us that God has given us a glimpse of some of the things that occur behind the scenes, which we do not always have to understand.  God is busy behind the scenes with human affairs. Pray with confidence for your country. Pray for and support leaders that have the courage to serve and honor God.

Bro. Stanley Rexroth preached Thursday morning on “The Journey Is Too Great For You” from 1 Kings 19:

Bro. Farmer preached the final message Thursday evening on “God’s Kingdom” beginning with Psalm 2:1-12. He reminded us that the temple that God dwells in is our body. There are those in high places that have set themselves against God. This includes people in politics, education and law enforcement. Jesus emphasized The Kingdom of God during His ministry and He instructed his disciples to preach the Kingdom. The Kingdom came to remain.

CAMP MEETING REPORT

Licking County Church of God

Newark, Ohio

Monday evening, July 12: Bro. Steve Williams preached on “Ready to Preach” from Jeremiah 20:7-9. He encouraged us to not give up. Jesus needs us to seek the lost. Is our object clearly understood? We need to work together. It ought not be that hard to work together. The humanity of the church is very real. We need workers today with the Word of God burning in their heart.

Tuesday morning was devoted to Mission Organization reports. Bro. Donald Curtis presented Children’s International Lifeline; Bro. James Nipp presented World Missionary Association; Bro. Stanley Rexroth presented World Missionary Fellowship USA; and Bro. Ralph Farmer presented World Missionary Fellowship of The Church of God, Canada. Extensive Missionary works are going on in many nations around the world.

Ohio Bible College met Tuesday afternoon. Bro. Rube Gayheart reported on the activities of the college. The number of students taking classes continues to grow. There is much interest in foreign countries for help in setting up and operating training schools.

Sis. Sarah Ingram preached the evening message on “Ribbons on Our Garments” from Numbers 14, 15 & 16. She told us that: Many people today want to be free agents with no one telling them what to do. We need reminders that we are to keep the commandments of God. When God’s glory shows up it is not because of everyone. There are some things that God hates. We are not looking to God to validate us. It is not about us; It’s about God. Let God define holiness. Some are apathetic about the work of God while others challenge everything the workers of the Kingdom are doing.

Bro. Glenn Dryden preached Wednesday morning’s message on “Made to Count” from Matt 5:13-16. He reminded us that: The will of God is that we commit ourselves to His service. He wants us to be the light of the world. “Have I allowed my light to be hidden under a basket?” Two clichés that are not true; “religion & politics don’t mix and you can’t legislate morality”. Our nation has a long history of our political leaders relying on God for divine guidance. Too often we neglect our political responsibilities. Every law legislated is from somebody’s morality. The church is not to be politicized but it should be involved in the process.

Minister’s met in Wednesday afternoon. Bro. Bartlette reported that the Licking County congregation is in the process of bringing city water and sewer to the property. Plans are to build lodging facilities in the future. A discussion took place concerning the direction of our fellowship.

Bro. Jimmy Swogger preached the evening message on “Be Not Carried About” from Hebrews 13:7-9. He told us: We have a lot of people in our churches claiming to be one thing but they are really something else. Religion in our country is at an all time high and Christian behavior is at an all time low. Spiritual discernment is lacking. “Everybody that carries a bible is not a Christian”. False teaching is all around us. Basic understanding about the kingdom is needed to keep from being deceived. Three things about the Kingdom you need to know. 1st the kingdom is spiritual not natural. 2nd the kingdom is universal not local. 3rd the kingdom is a theocracy not a democracy. “When you don’t understand the nature of the kingdom you can easily be deceived. Christians change the climate everywhere they go”

Bro. James DeLuca Jr. preached Thursday morning on “Serve Each Other” from Job 29:1-15. He told us: “Without integrity the Church of God is nothing”. We need to be eyes to the blind, feet to the lame and a father to the poor. Children are as much a part of the church as you are. If we expect others to follow us we must do what is right. Too many times we walk around souls that are half dead without helping them. We will always have the poor among us. Without compassion you can’t love others.

Bro. Ed Beck preached the evening message on “It’s Time To Quit Judging” from John 8:1-11. He told us: Our God does not ask us to do something that we can’t do. When He says to sin no more, you can do it. Allow room for the Holy Spirit to do His work. A pastor is not called to be a sheriff but to be a shepherd. Jesus came to seek and to save the lost not to judge. He is going to judge at another time.

Bro. Jay Harmon preached Friday morning on “The Manifestation of God’s Power in Prayer” from Acts 4:23-31. He told us: You are either a saint or a sinner. “God’s people ought to be as bold as a lion.” We need to be filled with the Holy Ghost. Things happen when we pray. The presence of God fills us with grace and power. Too many times today we think that God will not answer. God answered prayer for Hezekiah, for Job and He is willing to answer your prayer. “We can have victory when we pray.”

Bro. Ron Leasure preached the evening message on “Decision Making” from Mark 10:17-22. He told us: The greatest sin we can commit is to reject Christ from being Lord of our life. We need Jesus Christ in our lives to cleanse us from our past sins. He is the only one that can cleanse us. He is the only one that can change your nature. He is the only one that can change your character. He is the only one that can empower you. Jesus faced decisions just like you & I, and He made them always to glorify God the Father. You need to seek a life of meaning and fulfillment with a sense of direction. A good life does not happen by accident. You have to decide if you want to go to heaven.
