EDITORIAL

Luke 16:19-20 19There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: 20And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

As we go about our busy lives in our present   world are we aware of those that are laid at our gates? As I started out serving the Lord in 1957, I had no clue as to who the Lord would lay at my gate. My simple prayer was “Lord, you have been so good to me to forgive me and bless me so, what can I do for you?” As I have grown in my walk with God, I have discovered a great harvest field where the harvest is great and the laborers are few. I’m praying the Lord will send laborers into His harvest field.

The field is all around us. Why the Lord chose to send me to the Philippines and Nigeria, I don’t understand. I only know that He is the Lord and my responsibility is to obey Him.

What is your prayer? As you read of the many needs around the world, is our Lord placing someone at your gate?

I thank you for your generous offerings to help us in our upcoming trip to Nigeria. Our team: Bro. Henry Marquiss, Bro. Rube Gayheart, Bro. Len Gongola & Yours truly have our tickets. We are scheduled to depart from Dulles on Oct 10 and return Nov 7. Our itinerary consists of 4 day Crusade in Lagos, 4 day seminar/revival in Abia State, 5 day camp meeting, 4 days traveling from place to place, 4-6 days visiting local congregations, 3-5 days meeting with ministers, 2 days en route to & from Nigeria and 3 rest days. We are praying for $3,000.00 more to make this trip; However, we are committed to the journey no matter the cost to us. Thank you for your prayers. Editor.

NIGERIA

REPORTS FOR THE MONTH OF July:

Abam/Abala, Pastor Cyriacus Nwachukwu: Attendance = 70 to 87. Activities:  The normal church weekly activity is not left behind.  "All hands were on deck" by carrying gravel from where it was bought to church compound for the construction of Altar vestry.  It is a heavy task by human effort.  God is with us.

Calabar 1, Pastor Johnnie Austin: Attendance = 70 to 84. 1 soul won. Evangelical Activities:  There was a continuous visitations to members and non members during the month despite heavy rain fall.  Calabar one and Calabar two congregations jointly held a one month revival program which took place every Sunday throughout the month of July, 2005. Weekly programs.  Example, Wednesday Bible study and Friday Healing/thanksgiving services were also conducted as usual. The Church has committed itself as a duty to fast and pray every Friday for successful visit of our overseas WMF brethren to Nigeria.

APPEAL:  (1) The church has appealed that the one day - 25/10/2005 - scheduled for Calabar visit be made two days since Calabar is a big township with two congregations to enable us hold a two day seminar. (2)  Again, I Pastor Johnnie is still appealing to you, my WMF brethren, to assist me financially to enable me clear the two years rent that I am owing and also to go for operation of hernia that is disturbing me for over two years now.  My health is deteriorating more and more everyday due to much thinking and pains.  Operation in Nigeria is expensive and the N10,000.00 monthly allowance do not go round my transport.  I hope you will not want me to die and you say, "May his soul rest in peace". Thank you for helping me.

Calabar 2, Pastor Bassey Ekpe: Attendance = 47 to 67. 2 Souls saved. Evangelical Activities:  This little fall on attendance, was due to heavy rain fall as it is now.  But despite this we had two souls who came in for deliverance, when we introduce Christ to them they gave their lives to Jesus.  Blessed be the name of the Lord.

We had a combined revival program throughout the month of July on the theme; salvation and the preaching on the man who made the greatest sacrifice on the cross with each pastor handling weekly teaching. Souls are perishing lets catch them young, for the field is the world and is ripe.

Umuahia, Pastor Christian Ogbuka: Attendance = 37 to 77. Evangelical: We remain grateful for God who has visited us with so many good things, fulfilling his word in Ps. 34:10. Our building project continues with every little thing we realize including donations from well meaning citizens of the land who Love God's work.  A total of N1.5 million has gone in, yet much remains.  Thank God for the little flock who has been doing their best.

Omoba Isiala Ngwa, Pastor Ronald Iheanacho: Attendance = 29 to 33. Evangelistic Activities: Bible studies were conducted on all the Mondays in the month, while every Fridays of the month was used for revival prayers. 7th 21st & 28th: We conducted house to house evangelism. 14th, 16th, 27th & 30th: were used for pastoral visitations. 20th & 26th: Bus Evangelism.

MACEDONIAN CALL: The church of God at Omoba desperately needs a land to avoid any embarrassment that may occur.  The parsonage as I reported last time is not conducive for church gathering or worship.  The land will not cost much at Omoba.  In addition, the local church pastor there needs Megaphone for market evangelism and early morning cry evangelism.  We are all praying for World Missionary Fellowship.

Ikot Edibon, Pastor Okon Jim Ibok: Attendance 14 to 21. 3 days revival meeting were conducted. Young men meeting was held on the 16th and House to house Evangelism week.

Ikot Inyang Eti, Pastor Udobong Okon Essien: Attendance: 76 to 78; 4 souls were baptized. Evangelical activities include evangelism, prayer and fasting.  Prayer meetings, tarry night, one week program of Bible study on Christian family for men's fellowship and women's fellowship.

Ehere, Aba, Pastor James Igbokwe: NO REPORT

Eket Urban, Pastor E. David: Attendance: 20 to 27. Evangelical Activities:  A 3-day retreat; theme:  THE MYSTERY OF THE CROSS (Jn.12:24-31). Brethren,  Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.  I am very much obliged to write to inform you again that your visit to Nigeria is during school session, as such there will be no place for us to gather  to receive you as we usually use school class-room for our service unto the Lord.  Therefore, we request that fund should be provided for hiring of a place, chairs and other items for use on that day.  The estimated amount is about fifty thousand naira only (N50,000.00); approximately 450 dollars.

Evavalley Amafor Isingwu Umuahia, Pastor Albert Emeh: Attendance = 18 to 24. Greetings from the church at Eva-Valley.  We did not do our door activities this month.  We attended group manual work with the church of Pastor Christian Ogbuka for several times at the new church site.  It rained heavily this month but all the same, our indoor activities were taken proper care of.

AMAEFULA, C/O 270 OBOHIA PASTOR AMBROSE: Attendance: 36 to 47. The church held their inauguration of the bible club orphanage on 31st July. Various people made vows ranging from N1000.oo to a million naira; our prayer is that God will enable them to fulfill it. Because of the love we have for the orphans, widows and the less privileged we pray ceaselessly for their care, because this is a vision that God gave me years back. Bro Stanley and the rest we still expect your own donation. Our evangelical activities were carried out to God's glory.

PHILIPPINES

August 24, 2005

Dear Bro. & Sis. Rexroth,

Greetings from the Bible Holiness Church of God of the Philippines in the precious name of Jesus Christ our savior & King. Hope this letter finds you healthy physically & spiritually. As for me & my family circle & the church as a whole are happy and in the winning side.

Sad to note that Sis. Noemi Esteban and Bro. Samuel Luzan are able to get their visa for the reason that there is no strong ties between the Bible Holiness Church of God of the Philippine mission with the World Missionary Fellowship in United States. And, in that results I assured & encourage them that God whom we are serving is a living God and understand. So they just pray that US embassy personnel will accept them the second time so that they can come to attend seminars during camp meeting and church services so that they can give their full report to the supporting churches in the United States and give thanks personally.

Because of the failed application of visa, I decided to come even though I am not feeling well. I ask God to give me enough strength so that I can come to assist Wesly to give report and encourage or beloved supporters to continue their full support to the growing mission in the Far East. For you to note, by the grace of God, we are able to attend the victorious camp meeting in Licking County. We attended also the Newark, Ohio Church of God services where Bro. Tom Wilson is the pastor, Coulters Church of God where Bro. Dave DeVoll is the Pastor, Dover Church of God where Bro. Yoder is the pastor and we also attended the Pine Flats Church of God services where Bro. Tim Bash is the pastor and now we are in the good hand of the Church of God in Shippensburg where Pastor & Sis. Rexroth is the pastor.

In the other hand, I want to thank and praise the Lord because in traveling from church to church, meeting to camp meeting, we receive many blessings from the people of  God. Words cannot be explain how we appreciate the people of God in United States because some of our problems in the Philippine Mission about our church projects was already settled. But there are still some we are praying that God will supply the needs, especially in Manila we need to buy a lot where we can extend the church work.

In closing, we want to give thanks to our dear supporters for their continuous support. We are praying much that God will pour out His blessings to the Churches of God in U. S. because we believe that when they are they can also remember the Philippine mission.

                Regards to all,

                Bro. & Sis. D. B. Luzan

The most Reverend Father Wood and Mother Wood,

We are praising God for all the holy Acts of jbgw to extend the Kingdom of God by helping and preaching of righteousness to save souls. The Lord had blessed 18th pastors conference with His Kind Mercies. All the pastors are joined together on 29th Aug 2005,with greetings of love. For the present meeting the host was the HOPE CHAPEL – M. V. Palem [DR & Mrs. Edward N.BECK CHURCH]. Pastor Messiah and Saints received all the pastors with warm welcome.

Pastor Premnath started the meeting with prayers and praises to God, and he asked every pastor to pray for Father Wood and Mother Wood, chairman of WMF Pastor Rexroth and all the saints of community church of God. The praises and prayers continued up to 11. 30 AM. Pastor Mother Martin gave good instructions about the duties and responsibilities of pastors. He asked pastors to know the great plan of God and wonders that he had done among us. As many other congregation pastors facing difficulties without a church building but the Lord has provided 13 permanent buildings in Nellore, T.P. Gudur, Temple city and Kings town and other equipments in the service of the Lord. As some other denomination pastors are not provided even a bicycle but praise the Lord, for His great things towards Fellowship of the church of God Ministers. so as Saint Paul said now we need to run in progressive way for His ministry.

Pastor Bobby preached the Word of God from the epistle of 2corinthi 10:4,5 “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds: Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalteh itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought the obedience of Christ”; before using of spiritual weapons we should wear the full Armor of God for the defensive. Then we should take the weapons of Warfare. There are mainly four weapons for taking offensive. First of all we can say Prayer is the most powerful weapon and then Preaching the word of God, At the end of the message he requested all the pastors by using the weapons and full Armor of God fill the church building with new souls. The pastors and saints involves themselves only which are Christ centered and bring glory to God.

All local church Pastors submitted progress report of Ministry how the Lord blessed the ministry with new souls. They are also ready to give witness in water Baptism. The Fe committee regarded on AIDS patients that those are at the door steps of Death. As we are met them through our ministry, we found how they are in despair and disappointments. To animated them we conducted counseling with Word of Life. And also we are helping a little for their daily bread. “AIDS is coming to India with a bang”. The WHO statistics estimated 5,00,000 to one million HIV positive cases in India long back. Of these 75% belong to 20- 35 age group… According to it India in 1995 only 17,124 HIV positive cases and a roster of 1,017 AIDS patients 90% of whom are dead,… it is not our concern to recon patients but our major concern is to lead them with eternal life.

In second session Pastor Premnath gave a message about the church and Good shepherd. All the pastors praised God with whole heart and offered special prayers for every one in the ministry. At 5.00 PM meeting was closed and pastor Bobby shared all the greetings, blessings and benefits of Father Wood and Mother Wood and all the saints of Community church of God.

Once again I humbly submit for your kind consideration and prayers for all the Missions and Projects of Fellowship of the church of God which we are under taken “BUILD A CHURCH IN A VILLAGE” “WIDOWS HELP” “ORPHANS AND HANDICAPED AND OLD AGED” “PASTORS STPHEND” “EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE” TRAING FOR RURAL PASTORS”,“RIVERMINISTRY”“LEPROSY AND AIDS MINISTRY”

Praise the Lord Jesus Christ Amen.!

                Your humble servant,

                Bobby.

To The Honorable Father and Mother J.B.G.WOOD.

Greetings in Jesus dear name.  The God is so great in doing His marvelous works in the ministry over here in India, with much prayer on 5th of August .2005. Friday we all the 5 branches of GETHSEMANE CHURCH OF GOD saints gathered in NELLORE at my house that is at heart of the NELLORE city , on the third Flore tares, it was cool and open place to pray all the night, asking God to protect all the  saints of the Church of God USA Specially our missionary Father and Mother J.B.G.WOOD, and others too, for their travel and good health, and for the ministry over there.

God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) and hath raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Eph. 2:4-6

And also we prayed for the new openings in the new villages where there is no church and Christian, our good lord gave two villages one is about 25kms from south to NELLORE, a village called UPPUTURE. And another miracle that God has done one saint gave her land a room with compound for the worship freely for us, to have the church of God services. That we have dedicated on the very next day of the all-night prayer, Pastor K. Bobby, Chairman of the Fellowship of the church of God, T.P.GUDUR was present. Last Sunday 20 children and 10 elders (non Christians) attended the service, Please pray that our good lord may prepare them for the baptism.

Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.  Isa. 12:2

                With Christian Love.

                Your servants,

                PREMNATH, ANGEL, ROSELINE

YOUTH CORNER

Season's changing, summer is over, and school has started. There is a lot of changing and new experiences around the corner. On youth corner there is a lot going on as well. Many youth groups are going through changes as a new school year begins and they lay out what they want to do for the new school year. Five words go through my mind through this time of change. They are found in Genesis Chapter 1:1 "In the beginning God created . . . ." We must remember that God created us, and He created us to have relationship with Him. So as school starts and we get a "new" start in school, let us remember what we are created for and keep our relationship with God first place in everything we do.
Power Verse : Colossians 3:23 "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily as to the Lord, and not unto men."

CAMP MEETING REPORT

I was privileged to attend a day at Burnside, PA Church of God Camp Meeting Aug 3 & 4. Evangelist Ben Jordan preached on Jabez from 1 Chronicles 4:9-10.  He told us that Jabez called on God. “What did you ask God for this week?” All too often we get what we ask for, which is nothing. Jabez asked God to bless him and enlarge his borders.

In the morning service, Bro. George Wilson preached on “Keeping The Vision of Faith” from Hebrews 11:11-22, Eph 2:21, 5:27, Pro 4:18 & Rev 19. He reminded us that though we are preoccupied we dare not become desperate. “God’s work with man is always an ongoing work”. God took 4000 years creating an appropriate human condition for His son to come into the world. He understands us humans and has great patience. “God has a long range vision; He does not have prefabricated blocks to build the church with”. He chooses to work with us to build His Kingdom. The universal church is an ongoing building process. We need to rid ourselves of the negative idea that the church is going down. We need a long range vision that gives us back patience & faith; God’s Kingdom will continue to increase.

Fall work day was set for Oct 15.
