NIGERIA

REPORTS FOR THE MONTH OF July:
Abam/Abala, Pastor Cyriacus Nwachukwu: Attendance = 79 to 85. Three (3) souls won. We ended our 3 days teaching on “Ideal House Wife” with one day fasting & praying, though rain breeze disturbed us a lot due to the unfinished church house. We also hosted the Abia State Women’s meeting. The burial of Sis. Ego will take place in August.
Calabar 1, Pastor Johnnie Austin: Attendance = 75 to 119. Activities: Heavy downpour occasionally disturbed visitations; also poor turn out on weekly activities. Even then, we do not relent in our efforts to reach out to people. During the month, we held a four day program on breaking of curses. The turn out was impressive and encouraging because it attracted outsiders. For some years now, we have been paying our rent alone without drawing from community fund; and many other things, we did alone without demanding. Bro. Stanley, must we fold up or run away from Calabar because it is an expensive place? What does Mark 16:15 says? I think, by reason of the gospel, Calabar was also created for Christ. (Col. 1:16). Therefore help us to win Calabar for Christ for they are human beings not animals or ghost living there. We are very much willing to work but encourage us. Thanks.
Calabar 2, Pastor Bassey Ekpe: Attendance = 42 – 66. Two (2) Souls saved. Evangelism on Saturdays continue to create impact on turning out of new members which was carried from house to house. Normal weeks and mid week activities went on as usual with Bible class, and three days fasting and prayer for the increase of souls in the church.
Umuahia, Pastor Christian Ogbuka: Attendance = 53 to 55. Greetings from this church in Amafor Umuahia. All the activities of the church are being run smoothly since the departure of Pastor Christian to USA. We do have adult committee meetings, prayers on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, youth gatherings on Thursdays, Children do their gathering on Sunday morning and evening.
Top priority of this church is to finish the un completed church building of which a draft of the cost was sent to pastor Stanley for consideration. This Church is a promising Church in the sense that new people come in and when the new house is finished, many souls will be won to the Lord. I have been visiting the members and getting to know them well. Some are nursing babies, some are sick and some are weak in faith, now they are being revived and encouraged in things of the lord.
Omoba Isiala Ngwa, Pastor Ronald Iheanacho: Attendance = 39 to 41. Six (6) souls saved. Evangelism: Bible studies, house-to-house evangelism & pastoral visits were conducted. God has been so kind to us this particular month, for through our house to house evangelism a police officer and his family were added to the Church of God at Omoba Praise the Lord! In addition pregnant women in my branch delivered safely; The Lord is Good!

We are still praying for WWF.
Ikot Osom, Pastor Okon Jim Ibok: Attendance 16 to 22. Activities included: Two days fasting and prayers, 3 days revival youth meeting, Bible class, House to house Evangelism and Tarry night prayers.

Every victory brings joy. Chinwemeri goes to church, a sister dedicated her son so we saw some guest, we teach and preach. Sunday services starts 12noon every week; Wednesday fasting prayer; Evening prayer meeting on house to house visit.
Eket Urban, Pastor E. David: Attendance: 29 to 38. Two (2) souls saved. Evangelical Activities: One week of daily prayer was held. We are faced with the problem of a conducive place of worship since the school block is no more available because of our inability to meet up with the rent. The rent was raised to (N 12000.00) twelve thousand naira per year. They demanded for yearly payment. Please consider the fact that God has put in my care only children who can’t afford for this amount and I can’t do away with them. You may therefore consider our situation and help us to purchase a plot of land as I have already sent in some estimate.
Evavalley Amafor Isingwu Umuahia, Pastor Albert Emeh: Attendance = 21 to 27.  Evangelistic report: Greetings from Iva- Valley church Our church Programs were properly attended to this month. The service was full of joy; prayers were said on behalf of W.M.F USA, W.M.F Nigeria. Pray for strength for my wife Mrs. Comfort in the work of the Lord. A woman Organization in Imo State have invited her to come and be their guest Preacher come 9th – 11th August in their annual gathering. She needs your prayers and support. That’s why I have been pleading for her support in a separate not given to Pastor Christian Ogbuka to give to you. This is the work of the Lord help her.

CHRUCH OF GOD UNIVERSAL

Jul 18, 2006
Beloved brother Rexroth,
Loving greetings in Jesus name to you. Our Anniversary celebration was over last Saturday. The lord did great and wonderful things unto the church and we are grateful. Attached here with is the list of the distribution of the support sent. We owe much gratefulness to God and to the donors of the support. We are looking forward to a time when the support will flow in monthly. Thank you immensely
We have Macedonian calls here and there, but lack of Evangelism Bus is a handicap to reaching thirsty pressures souls. Please, give us an 18-21 seater Bus for the purpose and by the grace of God the church here will be able to maintain it. Souls that are hungering and are crying to perish without the truth are crying unto us bitterly. We stand ready to reach forth to them, but there is no possibility. Please Brethren, because of the seriousness of the present day fleeting moments, we plead for you to give us Evangelism Bus. The reward will be tremendous.
My wife is still in confinement far away from home because of the fatal accident involved. Improvement is slow but there is hope of recovery. Her absence from home has a soporific effect on home and church life. Much prayer from you and others is anticipated.
Greetings to Brother Christian, wife and child from Nigeria and to your family as well.
            With love from,
            Bishop A. Okon

Dear Rexroth,
Greetings, We are happy to share with you the joy of hosting the end of term inter fellowship meeting with students from more than three colleges within the community of Ikota Estate in Lagos on August 4, 2006. This marked the closing of the college for this term. Over 1000 students attended the fellowship.
The message was based on (Planning a better Future) In order to plan a better future, The students were advised not to keep bad company, not to join cult, and that they should study hard so as to make good grades, That they are the future hope of their families and nation at large, they should not allow their parents to regret due to their bad behavior. They should promise not to suffer the way their parents suffered due to poverty.
They were given opportunity to express their view. as follows: Some complained of lack of text books, lack of school fees due to the fact that their parents have not been paid salary for many months, while some parents are applicant for years without job. Others complained of not being able to avoid a meal in a day and normally come for studies without taking break fast.
The meeting was ended with a prayer by Brother Emmanuel Udo one of my teachers.  Another fellowship is scheduled on September 18th 2006 when the school re -opened. Please, any one that has passion for youths and may want to contribute to redeem their future should do so. We need support to pay salary to the teachers so that we can teach those who really need help free, especially the orphans. Brother Christian is aware of this problem which we discussed during his visit to us before he traveled out of the Country.
            Remain Blessed

YOUTH CORNER

Season's changing, summer is over, and school has started. There is a lot of changing and new experiences around the corner. On youth corner there is a lot going on as well. Many youth groups are going through changes as a new school year begins and they lay out what they want to do for the new school year. Five words go through my mind through this time of change. They are found in Genesis Chapter 1:1 "In the beginning God created . . . ." We must remember that God created us, and He created us to have relationship with Him. So as school starts and we get a "new" start in school, let us remember what we are created for and keep our relationship with God first place in everything we do.
Power Verse: Colossians 3:23 "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily as to the Lord, and not unto men."
I would love to hear from you!  Send it to:
